My Story

Dorcas Lind, CEO and Founder of Mezala Consulting, is a communications/DEI strategist with a track record of dynamic, integrated campaigns that engage stakeholders across multiple channels. She has managed U.S. and global, multi-level teams and has led DEI strategic planning and program implementation, building formal DEI functions for health and hospital systems, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, and PR/Advertising agencies.

Her most recent work includes the application of human centered design and deep listening in the creation of health equity corporate narratives, and the development of cultural safety training modules for clinical trial teams working to increase the participation of marginalized communities in clinical research. Her work has evolved to focus on identity formation and the role it plays in how we show up in our workplaces. In her fractional executive role, Dorcas serves as Senior Vice President at Syneos Health building the DEI practice within the corporate communications team.

Dorcas held the inaugural role of Head of DEI at Montefiore Medicine/Einstein College of Medicine, convened and co-authored DEI recommendations for racial justice in the field of health services research for Academy Health, and served as a communications strategist for the Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Diversity Council to ensure an inclusive and diverse “workplace of the future.”

She obtained her M.P.H from the University of California, Berkeley Graduate School of Public Health in behavioral science and health education and earned a B.A. with honors in health and society from Brown University. She lives in Maplewood, New Jersey, with her silky terrier Coco and two teenage daughters, whom she fondly refers to as Hindi-Ricans, in celebration of their multicultural, multiracial heritage.
